VR Members Experience

We helped BESA set new records for attracting and converting event visitors

BESA (the Building Engineering Services Association) is all about helping their members to make the built environment better. They wanted to attract attention at shows and events – encouraging guests to visit the stand, start a conversation and go away with a memorable experience. Virtual Reality was the perfect solution.

We created a custom-branded VR app, containing a selection of content modules, so that users could follow their own interests. Perhaps to learn more about BESA and the benefits of membership, or gain insight into the impact of new legislation. All presented using vibrant 3D immersive visuals and animations, accompanied by a voice over guide.

BESA VR In Events

In the hero module, we found to ways to visualise the more abstract aspects of a membership organisation. Such as its mission, values and benefits. Using 3D models and animation to illustrate the scale of the member network, and drawing parallels between essential heating and ventilation systems in buildings, and the heart and lungs of the human body.

For the Building Safety Act module, BESA had already developed an in-depth PDF guide using the metaphor of a football team to represent different roles. We were able to take that creative treatment and bring it to life in a 3D environment, so that it felt coherent with other collateral. It’s also interactive, so that you can choose a ‘player’ to learn more about them.

The VR experience was launched at BESA’s own annual conference and is now travelling the UK to a variety of industry trade shows and events. It has been extremely well received, attracting the desired attention and helping to convert new members.

Thanks to our VR experience on the stand we dominated the room at the event. It was amazing to be out in front. Lots of people came over to our stand and the reaction was what we had hoped for.

And the impact of this VR experience is so much bigger than just the headset. We’ve created something that we can use for a whole lot of upcoming events and more.’
