Circus Starr
Circus Starr is an inspirational charity, who put on incredible shows for disabled and disadvantaged children and their families in a traditional big top tent. Funded by donations, they do around 70 shows a year around the UK for up to 500 people at a time.
The charity’s aim is to be as inclusive as possible, accommodating a wide range of additional needs, from physical and mobility access to neurodiversity and autistic spectrum considerations.
Some children find it challenging to enter a highly stimulating and unfamiliar environment, and some have conditions which make it impossible to visit in-person at all. That’s where we came in.
Circus created a pair of assets for the charity, under our Circus Gives Back programme. One is an immersive virtual tour of the tent – designed to be child-friendly and to give visitors a chance to familiarise themselves in advance.
The other is a high-resolution stereoscopic VR recording of the show’s highlights, which can be watched in VR headsets from home or hospital, as needed. Giving more children the chance to feel the excitement of the performance.
It’s been a pleasure collaborating with the dedicated team at Circus Starr, and meeting all their talented performers. Keep up the good work!
